Image to Video AI: Animate Your Photo

Upload a photo, describe what should move, and AI turns it into a video clip. Your image is the start frame: the first frame is your picture, then the scene comes to life the way you asked. You pick the engine, the format, the length and the resolution, and the cost in credits shows up before every send. Vertical 9:16 is the default, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Videos made with this tool

  • Portrait that comes alive

A profile photo starts to move: a look into the lens, a smile, a slight movement of the hair.

  • Landscape in motion

A mountain photo becomes a drone shot rising above the clouds.

  • Product on stage

The photo of a perfume becomes a slow shot with light gliding over the bottle.

  • Generated, then animated

An image made in the Images tool goes to the Videos tool in one click, with the Animate button.

How it works

How to turn an image into a video with AI

  1. 01

    Upload your image

Add a PNG, JPEG or WebP image from your computer, or reuse an image from your session. It becomes the start frame of the clip.

  2. 02

    Describe the motion

Write what moves, how the camera travels and the mood you want. One clear sentence is enough: "slow dolly in, she turns around".

  3. 03

Set the engine and check the cost

Pick the engine, format, length and resolution. The credit estimate shows before you send, and a pricier request waits for your confirmation.

  4. 04

    Download your clip

The clip lands in your session. Download it, run a variation, or join several clips into one edit.

Why Rewatch

What this image to video AI tool does

  • Your image as the starting point

The video opens on your image. Framing, colors and subject come from it, and the engine adds the motion.

  • Several video engines

Grok Imagine and Seedance 2.0 mini are open to everyone. Kling 3.0 Omni, Wan 3.0, Vidu Q4 and Seedance 2.5 are included from the Pro plan.

  • Format, length, resolution

Vertical 9:16 by default, or 16:9, 1:1, 4:3 and 3:4. From a few seconds up to 15 seconds, and up to 30 seconds on Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5, in 480p, 720p or 1080p depending on the engine.

  • An end frame if you want one

Some engines, such as Seedance and Wan 3.0, also take an end frame: the clip travels from the first image to the second.

  • Your characters with @Name

Mention a character made in the AI Characters tool: with no image attached, its portrait becomes the start frame.

  • The cost before you send

Each engine shows its price per second. The estimate for your request appears next to the send button.

What is image to video AI?

Image to video AI gives a still image to a video model, which turns it into a short animated clip. The image is the first frame, and the model invents the rest of the motion from your description, whether that is a face turning, a wave rolling or a camera moving forward.

In Rewatch, the Videos tool does exactly that. You attach an image, describe the motion, pick an engine from those in your plan, and get a clip to download. For a full video with a story, voiceover and captions, use the AI Story Video Generator instead. To make the photo of a person speak, go to Talking Photo AI.
